William: today’s beard, 2017/03/14

Name: William.
Occupation: Lawyer.

About William’s beard:

Why did I grow my beard? I wanted to try it out and was curious how it would change my face. It came and until now…it has stayed for more than four years!

What do I think about my beard? It is full, thick and I like it. It very equally covers half of my face. I realize that I am fortunate. 😉

How do I feel about my beard? Awesome. It gives me a happy, ultimate masculine feeling.

How long have I been bearded? Since January 2013.

How do I like being bearded? I like it a lot. I would suggest it to every man who has a beard growing possibility to start a beard immediately. It gives such a self confidence!

William grows a triumphant full beard! He encountered a great deal of opposition to his beard from others. But he stood strong and remained committed to the beard. Way to grow, William!

Rob: today’s beard, 2017/03/09

Name: Rob.
Occupation: Engineer.

About Rob’s beard:

Why did I grow my beard? I wanted to communicate an heroic image of an independent, sturdy, and resourceful pioneer, ready, willing and able to do manly things.

What do I think about my beard? I think it’s Regal.

How do I feel about my beard? I feel like it’s an absolute blessing and gift. It’s God’s gift to me as a statement of true manliness and I’m grateful to be able to sport it. Also, it’s a great accessory to any outfit.

How long have I been bearded? This time it’s coming up on six months or about thirteen fortnights for you old schoolers.

How do I like being bearded? I love it. I feel like I’ve attained superhuman powers.

In all seriousness though, I love having the beard. I also find it interesting to see how people react and treat you differently when you have a beard as opposed to being cleanly shaven. But it’s a hot commodity. I’m very thankful to have snagged one.

Rob grows an excellent, regal beard! His beard has a great shape and shows that a high cheek line for the beard can be a real plus for a full beard’s appearance. When you go for the full beard, embrace it fully like Rob does!

Rick: today’s beard, 2017/03/01

Name: Rick Dancer.
Occupation: Video/Television Producer.

About Rick’s beard:

Why did I grow my beard? I started growing a beard following a battle with prostate cancer. After treatment there is very little you can do to prevent the cancer from coming back. So for me, I found growing a beard each November was/is a way to show my support for other men going through this disease.

What do I think about my beard? Honestly, I love my beard. I live in the Pacific Northwest where beards are hip and considered pretty normal. I think as a guy it gives us an edge on the competition. (If you know what I mean.)

How do I feel about my beard? I never much thought about it until people started walking up to me, impressed with the thickness and quite honestly the color. My hair is steel gray (my term) and my beard has the same silver appeal.

How long have I been bearded? My first full beard covered my face in high school, but for twenty-five years I worked as the main anchor for a television news station in Oregon. Facial hair was not allowed. So each winter vacation I would let it go and dream of an end to my shaving. Now that I no longer work in that industry it’s every man for himself.

How do I like being bearded? I really do like having a beard. I’m very active and swim and run. So the warmth and covering is the practical side. But the real reason I keep my beard is it gives me a bit of an edge and keeps people guessing as to that rough and tumble side of being a guy.

A beard as great as Rick’s deserves to be more than seasonal. We are truly thankful that Rick survived his battle with prostate cancer. May he and his beard prosper and grow ever stronger!

UPDATE, February 2019: Three more photos added.

Sharp dressed beard: Archie Bradley

All About BEARDS salutes Arizona Diamondbacks pitcher Archie Bradley for clearly demonstrating that a robust full beard can be part of a completely professional appearance. On February 3rd, 2017, Bradley served as the keynote speaker for the annual Oral Roberts University Baseball Diamond Dinner. The image he presented showed that a full beard looks great with a suit and tie. Bradley was not sporting a timid attempt at growing a beard, either. He has grown a full-on power beard that commands respect.

Thanks to Scott Pfeil on Twitter, Mr. Bradley shares a brief history of his beard:

Apparently, he has pretty much let his beard all grow out naturally, without butchering his beard’s cheek line or neck line. It’s turned out to be quite an impressive sight. Mr. Bradley’s done such a great job of growing his beard that I could say he’s achieved the beard-growing equivalent of pitching a no-hitter!

As you can see, Archie Bradley helps kids in the community and serves as a great role model for them, PLUS he sets a great example that proves that a power beard can be an asset to a well-dressed man’s professional appearance. Way to go, Archie!

Mike: today’s beard, 2017/01/26

Name: Mike.

About Mike’s beard:

Why did I grow my beard? I grew out my beard because: A) I was sick of shaving, and B) I was sick of being the same face in a sea of corporate baby faces.

What do I think about my beard? I think it’s great! I don’t mean to be narcissistic, but I really enjoy having a big beard. I can get creative with it for events, or just let it flow naturally.

How do I feel about my beard? I feel like it’s become a big part of me and who I am. I go against the grain, and this helps me show that. But it has also helped me meet a lot of amazing people in the beard community who I wouldn’t have met otherwise, and they have all become really good friends.

How long have I been bearded? This current beard I have been growing for 1.5 years, but I have had a beard in some way, shape, or form for the last three years.

How do I like being bearded? In a nutshell, I love it! Like I said before, it has introduced me to a lot of people and it has brought me to events around the country which I wouldn’t have met or attended without it.

Mike’s outstanding, awesome beard surely makes him stand out well from the mass of beardless faces!
