I originally chose to grow a beard largely due to the fact that many men I have respect for in my family, as well as friends and icons, have grown their beards and I uphold it as a symbol of respect, wisdom, and prestige.

How do I feel about my beard? Since I've grown my own beard, I have come to discover that it's not about appearances, it is about who you are as a man. Those who are confined to the social norms telling them to shave down to the skin should be nothing short of embarrassed, as they are merely clowns in a world-wide circus of standards set by the likes of VH1 and Cosmopolitan magazine.
