I grew my beard because I've always wanted a beard. Most of the people I've most admired through life (both personally and historically) have had a beard of some kind. It seems to me that a beard is an important statement about oneself. I've had a beard as long as I've been able, and when the terminal hairs for my moustache and bottom lip darken more, I fully intend to grow a full beard.

It's something that I do not intend to go without. I shaved it off once and regretted it immediately. My beard is a part of me.
