Why did I grow my beard? I've always wanted a beard but was physically not able to grow one before I joined the Marine Corps. After I got out, however, I stopped shaving my face and just let it go. My wife didn't like it at first and she's still on the fence about it, but she's warming up to my beardedness. She says as long as I keep it trimmed and shaped, wash it often, and don't let it go wild, she'll let me keep it.

How do I feel about my beard? I love my beard. I wish that it were more red to show my Scottish/Irish heritage, though.
