Why did I grow my beard? I first started growing a beard in 2006. It has oscillated between stubble and short beard for many years. In November 2012, as part of Movember/No Shave November, I shaved down to just a mustache and started growing it out. At the end of November, I decided to keep on growing. As coworkers and friends grumbled about the ever-growing length, I committed to making this a six-month experiment. Now that the six month mark is rapidly approaching, I regret setting a limit.

How do I feel about about my beard? I love having a beard. Facial hair is part of who I am. Now that I've grown a full beard for the first time, I feel like I like the way I look for the first time in my life. I'm trying to decide between keeping it and being called a liar or trimming it and feeling like less than me.
