Among my friends and family there comes a time when a boy becomes a man. This time came for me when I decided to cultivate a lush beard and learn to maintain it. I see a beard as a sign of dignified maturity.

How do I feel about my beard? Many things indicate one has "grown up" but none so vital as having a full, well-groomed beard. Simply having one is not enough. Being soundly experienced in the growth and upkeep of one's facial hair is a symbol of adulthood and refined masculinity. My beard is such a part of my appearance and personality that it has come to define me.
