Bearded since: 1978. I am a dedicated, permanent beard grower.

I grew my beard originally for a part in "Fiddler On The Roof", but kept it as it suited me very well and made me look more distinguished.

I like it very much. I would feel naked without it. As a performer it is almost a trademark. At a music festival a few years ago, I was the technical director. Performers trying to find me were told: "Yer lookin' for Bear? Big red beard and a pipe -- can't miss him."
