Why did I grow my beard? I shaved in 2010 and returned to the beard in 2013. A three-year hiatus from a beard was enough. A beard also makes running through Michigan winters much more tolerable and fun. And nothing beats feeling Lake Michigan lake water stream through your beard in the summer!

How do I feel about my beard? I love my beard like a family pet. This winter, my beard has frequently created its own weather systems.
