Why did I grow my beard? Originally I grew a beard as soon as I got out of the military. After half a year of letting it grow wild I trimmed down to a traditional Van Dyke. When I met my wife she encouraged me to grow my big beard again and so that's what I'm working on now.

How do I feel about my beard? I love my beard but wish the hair was not so coarse. Even though I only trim a couple of patches, I still go through a razor far too quickly.
