I grew my beard because I've always liked how beards look on other guys. I grew my first beard during my freshman year in college in 1987. I didn't know how to trim it properly so after it got so wild I ended up shaving it completely and kept the moustache. Four years later, in 1991, I started growing it again and have always had a beard ever since and will never shave it completely ever again. I will not work for any company that would require me to shave it completely off.

I love my beard! I grew it the thickest it's ever been just recently... then I trimmed it back to a long goatee and stubble on the sides. By the end of that day I just felt really strange and sort of out of balance. I figured it may have been partially due to the loss of my full beard. So I'm growing it back completely and will probably never trim it back again. It makes me feel complete and confident. I love the way it feels and the way it looks on me.
