Why did I grow my beard? As an indicator of the length of my current remission from leukemia....post bone marrow transplant in 2003/2004.

How do feel about my beard? Better than NOT having one... I wear my beard with a great deal of pride and accomplishment. It is the perfect conversation starter. I'm constantly being asked, "how long...", and greeted with amazement when I tell them the story behind the beard. It shows people that cancer is survivable. And it provides an ideal opportunity to promote the need to become a bone marrow donor.
