I grew my beard because, well, it was time to act my age...which is 50 years this coming April. I like the way I am treated within the society I am now living in. I live on an island and gray hairs are a sign of wisdom and knowledge.

How do I feel about my beard? Well, it's not finished yet. I feel great inside, not ashamed of showing my age. It feels good and liberating. Since I spent most of my early life as a man in the military, now it feels like I have earned the privilege to be somewhat independent.
