Bearded since: 1971 except for time in the US Navy. I am a dedicated, permanent beard grower.

I grew my beard because I like being a man and enjoy the things that make us men ("masculine stuff") from a physical, visual, and cultural standpoint. I realize that there's more to making man than these things, but I still enjoy 'em!

How do I feel about my beard? I like the way it looks, feels... would feel naked without it (and cold, too!).

Note: I've included one old photo of my beard from 1988 before it turned white. ;-)
