Atonn S.
Bearded since: 1995. I am a dedicated, permanent beard grower.

Comments:
When I was in high school, I got tired of people pushing their fingers into my chin dimple. So I grew a "Balbo" at age sixteen. In my early twenties, it turned into a chin strap plus mustache. After I got married, since about age twenty-eight, I've moved to a short boxed beard beard. Lately, I have been experimenting with letting it grow out into a full natural beard for periods of about three months... which is about when my wife starts making comments about not kissing me anymore. So I groom it back to a short boxed beard.

How do I feel about my beard? I love my beard. I love the way it makes me feel. I've been told that it makes me look both "majestic" and "regal". Wearing different styles can almost feel like taking on different identities. But no matter the style, it's always a good feeling to have a beard. In the last fifteen years, I've only shaved it completely off twice: once for a stage production, and once when I lost a bet.
