Why did I grow my beard? For the last five-six years I grew my beard for six months and then shaved for six months. It was a pattern that I enjoyed and settled into. So one year ago my third daughter was born and it just tipped the scales of estrogen levels to a point I wasn't comfortable with: I am the only male in a house with one wife, three daughters, a female dog and two female cats. My beard is my way of balancing things out and increasing the man quota in my house. Tobias (my beard's name as it is very funky) has been with me about ten months and I have no plans to abandon him in the near future.

How do I feel about my beard? I feel like we were destined to be together. Also, I feel far superior to the clean shaven.
