Bearded since: 2012. I am an experimental beard grower.

I grew my beard because I was inspired by Hemingway. Wanted to see if I could come close to his mighty beard. I shayed away for too long. So when I hit forty, I thought it was time to get it done. So far so good, what do you think? I may grow the sides back. If you can produce a full beard, I think you owe it to mankind to do it.

How do I feel about my beard? Fantastic -- very liberating. It's easy to be discouraged after the first couple of weeks, but seeing the progression of the beards on the site, kept me going. I intend to grow it now to, hopefully, epic proportions. No idea why I didn't do it before my forties. Don't think I'll be a clean shaven man again.
