Initially I grew my beard because I have always been enthralled by the idea and look. I grew up being addicted to history. I saw some of our most important and influential historical figures were all great for their own reasons, but they were all bound together by one all encompassing personal feature: Abraham Lincoln, Ulysses S. Grant, Teddy Roosevelt, Alexander Graham Bell -- bearded and mustachioed men all. I am by nature a simple person and will probably not ever be a great or influential titan in the annals of history. I can however share something with these men: fantastic facial hair.

How do I feel about my beard? I love my beard! It's like a billboard on my face that I can use to express myself to the world. I change my beard style fairly frequently: when it suits my mood, when I want to make a statement, or when I just need a change of pace. I have only had my beard for a short amount of time, but I don't know how I ever got along without it.
