The first thing I did after my discharge from the US Navy was to stop shaving. It was a symbol of my new life as a civilian.

Each style choice for my beard was really a reflection of what stage I was in throughout my life. As a new father I kept it really short, as a musician and artist I became more expressive with it.

How do I feel about my beard? I love my beard. But it's been my wife that won't even let me trim it anymore. She's obsessed with it! How cool is that?!?

The only time I ever shaved it was when I went through a divorce. My kids revolted! Tears of disbelief ran down their faces. They made me promise never to do that again. True story!
