Bearded since: 2003. I am an occasional or seasonal beard grower.

(These are two-months-later follow-up beard photos from October's scruff-stubble look.)

I grew my beard because shaving is an unnatural waste of time and energy. Fact: a man who shaves his entire life will have spent over a year(!) standing in front of a mirror scraping his face off. Shaving (razor) is also bad for the skin long-term surely.

How do I feel about my beard? It's great and adds character, who gives that it's not fully grown-out. A lot of guys are missing out on something they'll never get back by shaving when young -- the scruffy unfinished look. It's a style of its own, an acquired taste. Everything is in the eye of the beholder, you see.
