Bearded since: 1981. I am a dedicated, permanent beard grower.

Comments:
I grew my beard because I had a terrible time with shaving. I could never use an electric shaver. It burned my skin and didn't get all the whiskers. I would then have to go over it with a blade and that would wreck my skin for the next couple of weeks. I had ingrown hairs and my face bled if I tried shaving more than once a week. Shaving wasn't an option. The doctor had been telling me to grow a beard for years. I finally relented after a particularly bad month.

How do I feel about my beard? As I've gotten older it seems to suit me better.
