Why did I grow my beard? Well, I stopped shaving in my teens. After that I changed up the "facial topiary" quite often, sometimes shaving the cheeks, etc. THEN, this past spring I had a throat surgery and they asked me to just shave it to make things easier. So I did.

I'm growing my beard back because my beard IS my face, not a thing that's ON my face.

How do I feel about my beard? I love it like a hand or a leg. It's as much a part of me as my nose or my eyes. It IS my face.

It's nice and thick, but not wiry. It's got lots of brownish and reddish colors in bright sunlight, which is nice. It matches all my other hair, too. Basically, I love my beard. It think it's in the top one percent of all beards ever. Or it will be in about nine months.
