I've always wanted a beard, for as long as I could remember, but my dad early on laid down an unspoken but nonetheless serious rule: When you decide you want to be a man and grow something respectable, you get one shot, and two weeks to grow it. If I'm not satisfied, then you shave it clean 'til you're out of my house. So I decided it was time to make it happen.

How do I feel about my beard? I absolutely love it. I wouldn't trade it for anything. As soon as I grew it I noticed right away I looked older, and also at 6'5" I definitely have noticed it helps bring me respect. Unfortunately, I am forced to refrain from a full beard at my work because it looks unkempt, but I mean... They let me keep the chops, so I'm not complaining.
