Bearded since: 1980. I am a dedicated, permanent beard grower.

I grew my beard partly because of a portrait of my great great grandfather that hung in my grandfather's house, and partly because I got tired of people telling me that I could not wear it.

This picture was taken December 2007 with eleven months growth. I will have 2.5 years to 3 years of growth before I cut it again.

How do I feel about my beard? I love it. It's been a part of me for so long now that when I cut it off I feel like I lost a limb.
