I started by growing it in as a full goatee and began experimenting with the "chin strap" beard in the years following. In recent years, I keep it in full goatee or a close-trimmed beard half the year and grow the full beard the other half starting about September.

How do I feel about my beard? I really love my beard, especially when I grow it out full. It feels more masculine being bearded. I do wish it were a bit thicker, especially the mustache, and a bit more filled in under the lip and on the cheek line, but all in all I'm really pleased with it and I'm thankful for what I can grow. I'll be a beard grower for life. These first three photos are after about 2.5 months of growth.
