Bearded since: 2003. I am an experimental beard grower.

Comments:
I grew my beard because, after leaving the corporate grind, I took the opportunity to grow a symbol of enduring freedom and individuality. I see it as a man's right to grow facial hair, and his duty to groom it to the best of his abilities.

I feel it commands respect, as an achievement and in terms of exercising personal choice. It is a great feeling to stroke it wistfully.
