I grew my beard to look more like my Greek ancestors: the famous Kalymnos deep-sea divers who spent their best days bludgeoning sponges on the ocean floor, smoking quality cigars inside their diving suits.

How do I feel about my beard? I love it because:
1) It's a comfort blanket on your face.
2) Young girls used to clean shaven boys think you are "rugged".
3) Nobody ever asks you for proof of age, just nod in approval at your chin.
4) Other men try to grow beards, grow back the pubescent mustache they had when they were thirteen, and shave it off sadly.
