I grew my beard because it's a friend that came into my life and refuses to go away. And I love him for it! Started with a goatee in 1995 and was shaped into numerous different shapes (and sizes) until my marriage in 2000, when I adopted the full beard. Have never felt the need for anything else...

How do I feel about my beard? It's who I am. For my wife especially, I tend to cut it short after every 1.5 years or so (she's happy as long as she can spot my jaw line). But now -- and she has accepted it! -- I'll keep growing the beard at least until May 17, 2010 (preferably, until terminal length has been reached, but don't tell my wife...).
