Bearded since: 2004. I am an occasional or seasonal beard grower.

I started growing a beard just to see how it would turn out about five years ago. My girlfriend (now my wife) liked it, so I kept it, but short. Now I go to a school that doesn't allow beards, which is no good because my wife and I both prefer my bearded look. However, I just finished an internship as a geologist in the oil field, and took the opportunity to grow my beard for five full months, to see how long I could get it. I was pretty satisfied with the result.

How do I feel about my beard? Once I can, I am going to keep it. I feel more comfortable with a beard, and my wife says I don't look like me without it. Plus, a geologist has got to have a beard, right?
