I was a teacher and, during the summer of 1973, I decided to accompany my vacation from school with a vacation from shaving. The day before I was to report to work for the '73-'74 school year, I simply could not bring myself to put the razor to my face. I took the plunge, went to work with a beard and have had it ever since.

How do I feel about my beard? I shaved for eight years and have had a beard for the last thirty-six years straight. It has been there so long that I take it for granted.
