It started while I was on a mission trip to the Dominican Republic with my church youth group. Since you can't drink the water, you really don't want to be shaving in it either. After ten days, I had a pretty good growth. So when I got home, I decided to keep at it a while and see where this thing went. The photo is from Thanksgiving 2008. Still don't know where this will lead, but I am looking forward to it!

How do I feel about my beard? Liberated! I'm no longer a slave to the daily drudgery of shaving. I have a common bond with all of the REAL men of the world, and a connection to the heroes of old. I'm a nonconformist of the highest order. (Even Jesus had a beard.) We are a brotherhood of iconoclasts, the last great bastion of individualists. We define cool!
