I have grown a beard for many reasons. The first and most important reason is that I can. I see so many people out there that can't grow a beard but try and I feel that it's a shame that a person who could wouldn't. The other reasons are either because it's the cold season, to test my will power to keep it going, or just to add a change to my appearance.

How do I feel about my beard? My beard definitely is a physical expression of who I am. It tells people this is me and all me. Shaving is like the cloak people put over themselves so others don't know what they are really like. My shaven face is like my alter ego as Clark Kent is to Superman. I would like some areas to perhaps get thicker, but I have found out that with every beard I grow and shave off, it's almost as if I willed that area to grow thicker and darker.
