I'm a professional firefighter and due to the nature if the job we're not allow to wear beards because of the seal that's needed on your face to properly don an SCBA (self contained breathing apparatus). I was detailed into fire alarm for one year to dispatch as most of us have to do. Fortunately for my one-year detail, I'm allowed to grow a beard because I will not be fighting any structural fires... Just answering phones. I've worn a beard all my while life until I started my career. Very bittersweet indeed. So here it is. We call it the fire alarm beard.

How do I feel about my beard? Love it.
