I decided to give growing a beard a chance during my sophomore year of college. It was early in October when I hoped to have enough facial hair for Halloween. What really sold me though was when I found my great-grandfather's plaid Woolrich hunting coat. By that point, I felt that if I were going to continue wearing it, I had to have a beard.

I'm generally very comfortable with my beard. Even though I do feel it's kind of patchy and ranges from shades of blonde to red to brown, I wouldn't have it any other way.
