I recently retired from the US Army after thirty-two years. I shaved daily, spent enormous amounts of money on razors and shaving cream, and simply wanted to "let my hair down" after years of daily grooming and adherence to appearance standards. Now, I get to set my grooming standards.

How do I feel about my beard? So far, so good. I am now transitioning from "not shaving" to wanting to look "groomed". Since the beginning of August, I have not shaved, though I have trimmed down several times using clippers. Now, I only trim the long ends of my facial hair with a beard clipper, though thanks to this site, I can learn proper grooming and growing techniques.
