Bearded since: 2010. I am an experimental beard grower.

I wanted to grow a beard because it has become sort of a right of passage in my family. My great grandfather, Reginald, wore a beard; my grandfather, Lamont, fought the Great American War wearing a beard; and my father, Brutus, has been wearing a beard for as long as I can remember. It was a necessary threshold that I needed to cross before truly becoming a man.

How do I feel about my beard? I am happy with the general heft and shape of my beard. My beard maintains a hearty, consistent style while also contributing on a more practical level to the warmth of my face.
