At first I grew my beard because I was tired of the permanent shaving rash (thick hair /soft skin). So I kept it short with a trimmer, but this year I've grown it longer at the suggestion of my two young daughters (part of their long-term plan to keep me single I believe). They love it and have hidden all the scissors!

How do I feel about my beard? I like it. It feels very natural, but then again, I haven't got to look at it. Beards aren't very popular in this part of Germany. So I have to put up with such original comments like "you look just like Father Christmas" all day. But I do seem to be treated with a lot more respect now.
