It wasn't until my mid-twenties that I learned to truly appreciate the art of beard growing. I met some men in the Austin Facial Hair Club that explained the benefits of beard growing and ever since then it has been beards-ahoy!

How do I feel about my beard? Whenever I contemplate my beard, or any beard-related matters, I think of an excerpt from a Rudyard Kipling poem I once read:

"We cleansed our beards of the mutton-grease,
We lay on the mats and were filled with peace,
And the talk slid north, and the talk slid south,
With the sliding puffs from the hookah-mouth.
Four things greater than all things are, --
Women and Horses and Power and War."
