Name: Jason.
Occupation: Retired.

About Jason’s beard:

Why did I grow my beard? I despised shaving after having to do it every day in the Army.

What do I think about my beard? Love it and it’s awesome.

How do I feel about my beard? Grows fast and dense and can get very long. Viking.

How long have I been bearded? Ten years.

How do I like being bearded? I’d feel naked without it. I go through different phases. Long full beard for a while, then shorter, then longer mustache or chin…etc. I have ADD so I think that plays a part of the constant changing. I’m currently really digging the trimmed full beard with an awesome long mustache look. My daughter and old lady love it. But I do really miss my awesome Viking beard.

Jason can grow a fearsome power beard. Whether big and long or short, Jason’s beard looks amazing!

blog.beards.org and Today’s Beard

Ben's beard at four months
Today’s Beard: The first beard salute went to Ben.

When I first added the blog to All About Beards in January of 2006, I thought it was a good idea to place it in its own sub domain: blog.beards.org. I no longer agree with that thinking and will be migrating the blog from the sub domain over to www.beards.org. Before that happens, there are some other things I want to complete first. So in anticipation of the upcoming migration, posting on blog.beards.org will be phased out.

In the meantime, I encourage everyone to follow a new blog feature, Today’s Beard, that I’ve started on www.beards.org. It’s a daily beard shout out and salute. You can find Today’s Beard here.  Come on over. Check it out and follow Today’s Beard!

Jim: today’s beard, 2016/12/11

Name: Jim.
Occupation: IT Director and Art Gallery Owner.

About Jim’s beard:
Why did I grow my beard? I had grown facial hair off and on since I was in my early 20s. There wasn’t much of a thought process behind this beard. I went on vacation for two weeks and didn’t shave. When I came home and looked in the mirror to shave off my stubble, I simply put my razor down and decided never to pick it up again.

What do I think about my beard? I think I’m supposed to be bearded given that I am unorthodox in the way I think and express myself. Other than keeping it groomed, I don’t fuss with it because fussiness isn’t part of my nature. I’ve had this beard for about five years now and I’m intrigued by presumptions some people make about me because of it. I like all beards be they magnificent or scruffy as long as the man is wearing the beard and not the other way around.

Jim’s beard is a grand, classic full beard that’s worthy of a lot of respect and admiration!
